‘Personally, I like to tell you.’

A performance as unplanned and unannounced intervention at the opening of the Paramaribo SPAN expo. A big exhibition of 10 dutch and 19 suriname artists. The show was also the first part of the end of the Artropa project, a three year long collaboration between Rotterdam and Paramaribo.

Inspired by Beuys’ lectures, I painted a blackboard on the wall of the exhibitionvilla and used it to tell guest at the opening how I ended up there doing my performance. The speech made a link between the artistic, political and economical sides of my being.
