‘Steinkohle Deutsch’ is the first short film made for the Volksrekorders project in Dresden in 2008.
Volksrekorders hosted for three years an online video channel for which they made short videos on different locations. Every project consisted of about a week-long working period on location in which each member made a daily video of about three minutes. This video was made on the first day of the project in Dresden where Volksrekorders participated in the program of the Filmfest Dresden, one of the biggest filmfestivals for short films in Europe.
The video deals with Dresden and Rotterdam being twin cities for 2o years at that moment and the relation between Holland and Germany in general.
