Modern thoughts, broken dreams

Posted on June 19, 2016 by Ties Ten Bosch

Modern thoughts, broken dreams is a reflection on the relation between the artist and the white wall of the art institutes. The installation consists out of a broken concrete piece of wall with something that looks like the remains of a floor attached to the wall. On the floor are pieces of paper that protected the floor from paint splatters while the wall was painted white.

At the top of the wall there is an empty frame that looks like it waiting for being filled with an art work, but in the same time functions as an artwork it self.

This installation was first shown at my solo show Cool Calm Collected at gallery Gilla Loercher in Berlin.
