Asbestos II

Four pieces of asbestos mounted directly on the wall. Together they make a ode to painters like Piet Mondriaan and Bart van der Leck, a sort of archeology in the collective art memory.

During the ‘Verborgen Tuinen 2013′ event, I created a closed hatch at the garden of a housing block in Charlois, Rotterdam. This hatch could be a way to pass to another space,  basement, tunnel or whatever. But in the meantime it is also an exit from such a space to the garden. What it really is we will not know, because the hatch appears to be locked tight!
